Resumen:
Runs of homozygosity (ROH) are becoming a valuable tool to analyze the evolution and genomic characteristics in animal populations. In goats, they were recently employed to determine the history of the domestication and adaptation processes of more than 100 breeds. In this study, we determined ROH patterns of 624 goats belonging to the Spanish Florida breed selected by low average relatedness in order to determine sex-related differences. Average ROH length, count and FROH (as a measure of the proportion of the genome covered by ROH) were obtained per individual, chromosome and sex group using DETECTRUNS package of R software. Statistical differences were determined using general linear models (GLM and LS preplanned comparison test). Our results showed that males have longest ROH than females (2559896 vs 2472068 bb respectively, P
