Aranguren, ?Preliminary study of the performance of biomassbased water-borne-polyurethanes applied as coatings"; SLAP 2018, Mar delPlata, 6-9 Noviembre de 2018. In order to increase the use of bio resources and reduce thetotal emissions of volatile organic compounds, waterborne polyurethanes (WBPUs)derived from vegetable oil (castor oil, CO) and a biobased carboxylic acid,have been developed. Consequently, WBPUs were synthetized with tartaric acid(TA), that can be obtained from grapes. On the other hand, cellulosenanocrystals (CNC) have been used as bio-reinforcement for these polyurethanes(also increasing the use of bio resources). Preliminary studies are presentedin this work focused on the potential application of the prepared WBPUs ascoatings.
