Resumen:
Andean economic interaction is mainly associated with the presence of goods such as ceramics, obsidian or plant products in archaeological contexts different from their origin places. But, what about faunal resources? In order to answer this question, an analysis of eight archaeofaunal assemblages from southern Calchaquí valleys (northwestern Argentina) are compared with other five collections from the higher Argentinean Puna sector. In this paper we discuss some possible signs of interaction between these two zones as expressed in the archaeofaunal record of the Formative Period (ca. first millennium A.D.).
