Frequently adjectives as deep acompanies the therm, thus it is possible to understand that it implies a substantial change in the organization to which it is applied; generally a society or a social order. Present work looks for an examination of the term´s senses not only in archaeology, but also in other related fields. From the study of the meanings of the term at issue and others closely related, a method for the study of the iconographic evidence of the calchaqui society is developed.
