Resumen:
Vertical migration of 137Cs global fallout was studied in soils from Argentina. The sampling area is located in natural and semi-natural grassland in San Luis Province (33º 40’ S, 65º 23’ W), and is positioned within Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA) of Argentina. To obtain the 137Cs transport parameters from observed activity-depth profiles we used the convection-diffusion model with constant parameters. The obtained diffusion coefficient Ds varied from 0.43 to 2.27 cm2 y-1, and the convection velocity vs varied from 0.13 to 0.39 cm y-1. These values are in the range reported in the bibliography.
