Resumen:
The heat of adsorption is required for meaningful modeling in many adsorption processes. This can range from interest in the heat generated itself (e.g., adsorption refrigeration cycles) to the impact that the heat generation and dissipation has on adsorption kinetics (e.g., industrial adsorption beds) [1]. The adsorption heat is a direct indicator of the heterogeneity of the interaction between the adsorptive (either a pure gas or a mixture) and the adsorbent [2]. However, the amount of experimental and theoretical work dedicated to the adsorption capacities of adsorbents far outweighs that dedicated to heats of adsorption. This can be explained by the fact that the measurement of the heat of adsorption is significantly more difficult and expensive than the measurement of adsorption isotherms.
