Resumen:
NF-kappa B activation has recently been shown to be necessary for long-term memory consolidation andreconsolidation, in the inhibitory avoidance learning in the mouse hippocampus. NF-kappa B is activatedin the cell nucleus in specific temporal windows in both consolidation and reconsolidation. Previousresults showed that the transcription factor is also present in synaptic terminals. This work focuses in thedynamics of its synaptic activation during consolidation, in two different synaptic localizations: soluble inthe synaptic content and, in a pool described for the first time in this work, bound to the cell membrane. The function of this novel localization is discussed.
