Resumen:
Urban Megaprojects are public or public-private operations of urban transformation defined as such based on their spatial scale, their cost, the planning models in which they are based and/or the land value that they produce. The term ´megaproject´ was coined in the 1970s as part of a series of public and private initiatives in Canada. However, it is usual to find it retrospectively applied, in order to conceptualize projects that are prior to the emergence of the neologism.
