Resumen:
ABSTRACT. Argentincan Miridac include 437 species and 151 genera. Near 54 % of the species richness is included in the subfamily Mirinae, the largest one among the eight prcsent in Argentina. Subtropical forcsts have more taxa, whcreas the Andean provinces have a great number of genera and species with restricted distributions. The necessity to study these zones of southcrn and western Argentina is emphasizcd. Near 40 specics are only known by one sex and other 70 are rcpresented in collections by smaIl samples of 1-5 specimens. The impact of human activities is brief1y commented.
