“En torno al culto al gobernante y a Dea Roma en el mundo helenístico: Las póleis y la política de la reciprocidad”

Resumen: Este trabajo aborda la cuestión de los cultos ofrecidos de manera voluntaria a los monarcas helenísticos y a Dea Roma por parte de las póleis del oriente griego. Se analiza desde una perspectiva histórica la cuestión de los isothéoi timaí (estatua, sacrificios y fiesta) ofrecidos a los reyes helenísiticos y se tiene en cuenta la creación de un original culto a Roma con similares caracterísiticas. En ese sentido, nos interesa indagar acerca del papel que estas prácticas cultuales tuvieron en el establecimiento y desarrollo de las relaciones diplomáticas entre las póleis y los êthne griegos con los reyes helenísticos y Roma. Estos dos tipos de cultos muestran continuidades que revelan el carácter estratégico y pragmático de estas prácticas sociales. Creemos que el estudio de este fenómeno aportará elementos para redimensionar el rol activo de las póleis en época helenística en un contexto internacional signado en un primer momento por el dominio de las monarquías helenísticas y luego por Roma. Palabras clave: Culto al gobernante – Diosa Roma – Ciudades – Monarquía – Mundo Helenístico ABOUT THE RULER CULT AND DEA ROMA IN THE HELLENISTIC WORLD: THE POLEIS AND THE POLICY OF RECIPROCITY Abstract:             This work deals with the cults voluntarily offered to the Hellenistic monarchs and Dea Roma by the poleis of the Greek East. The issue of the isotheoi timai (statue, sacrifices and festivals) offered to the Hellenistic kings is analyzed from a historical point of view; and the creation of an original cult of Rome with similar characteristics is also taken into account. In this sense, we are interested in investigating the role that these cultural practices had in the establishment and development of the diplomatic relations between the Greek poleis and ethne with the Hellenistic kings and Rome. These two kinds of cults show continuities that reveal the strategic and pragmatic condition of these social practices. We believe that the study of this phenomenon will provide elements to set the active role of the poleis in the Hellenistic period within an international context characterized by the supremacy of the Hellenistic monarchies at the beginning, and of Rome at a later period.
