Resumen:
The aim of this work was to determine whether CBG-P (progesterone bound to a globulin binding protein) induces changes in the kinematic behavior of human spermatozoa. Capacitated spermatozoa were subjected to several molar concentrations of CBG-P (10 -10-10-6) in a chemotaxis chamber and the sperm kinematic behavior was analyzed by video microscopy and computerized image analysis. A subpopulation of spermatozoa significantly responded to a concentration gradient of 10-7M CBG-P (p<0.05) by chemotaxis, however, there was no change in sperm velocity nor in the motility pattern. At the concentrations tested, the CBG-P complex appears to induce a chemotactic response in human spermatozoa without interfering with other dynamic parameters.
