Resumen:
The main objective of this work is to study and characterize the faint galaxy population in fossil systems from a semianalytical point of view. To do this, we performed a statistical study of fossil groups in mock galaxy catalogues constructed from the Millennium II simulation (MII) plus a semianalytical model of galaxy formation. We identified groups in this catalogue, and constructed two fossil group samples, and their
corresponding control samples (non-fossil groups), to perform comparative studies between fossil and non-fossil groups on the faint galaxy population. These analyses were performed for dierent evolutionary stages, from z=0 to z=1.08 (8Gys), reaching fossil group formation times. Our results suggest that the formation of the magnitude gap between the brightest galaxies has aected the evolution of the faint galaxy
population in fossil systems.
