Resumen:
The main objective of this work is to study and characterize the faint galaxy population in fossil systems from a semianalytical point of view. To do this, we performed a statistical study of fossil groups in mock galaxy catalogues constructed from the Millennium II simulation (MII) plus a semianalytical model of galaxy formation. We identifi ed groups in this catalogue, and constructed two fossil group samples, and their corresponding control samples (non-fossil groups), to perform comparative studies between fossil and non-fossil groups on the faint galaxy population. These analyses were performed for di erent evolutionary stages, from z=0 to z=1.08 (8Gys), reaching fossil group formation times. Our results suggest that the formation of the magnitude gap between the brightest galaxies has a ected the evolution of the faint galaxy population in fossil systems.
