Resumen:
We analysed the propagation of self-images through a thermal convective laboratory turbulence. The self-images produced by the laser illumination of a Ronchi grid is observed through a parent Ronchi grid of the former in a Schlieren optical system. Both Ronchi grids are parallel, and the self-image of the first grid is displaced half a period with respect to the later one. Light intensity that passes through the system is measured as a function of the turbulence. The turbulence itself is characterized by the observation of the wandering effect on a laser beam that travels the turbulent region perpendicularlyto the self-image propagation optical axis. Both, the intensity variation and the wandering effect data collected are analysed and compared.
