Arsenic in different compartments of northwest Patagonian lakes, Argentina

We report arsenic concentrations [As] in theprincipal components of the planktonic and benthic food web of NorthernPatagonia Andes Range ultraoligotrophic lakes, Argentina. In addition, [As] were also determined in muscle of four fishspecies occupying the highest trophic position in six lakes belonging to NahuelHuapi and Los Alerces National Parks. We also present [As] measured in sedimentarysequences from lakes located in both Parks with special attention to layersrelated to tephra deposits and layers from the second half of the 20thcentury.
