Resumen:
A meander of La Lista tidal channel (Bahia BlancaEstuary, Argentina) was selected in order to study therelationship between the geoforms that control themeandering channel evolution (mainly tidal flats andmarshes) arid the dynamic and circulationcharacteristics of these channels. To achieve this goala general survey was made in August 1999. Thetopographic characteristics of the channel and crosssectionprofiles from different sectors of the meanderwere compared with typical river profiles.Morphologic similarities between meander tidalchannel cross-section (characterized by bidirectionalflows) and meander river cross-section (characterizedby unidirectional flows) were analysed. Differencesamongthe tidal current profiles along the meander wereobserved. Comparing the current velocity gradients inthe different stations, the higher variations wereobserved during the flood period.
