Resumen:
La Carolina mine is located in the San Luis Province, Argentina. It is an epitermal deposit Iinked tothe Miocene volcanism in the San Luis Range. In this paper we describe four Ag minerals identifiedfor the first time in this mine: freieslebenita, diaphorite, pyrargyrite and acanthite. For freieslebeniteand diaphorite, La Carolina mine is their second and third Argentinean locality respectively. Themain minerals associated in the sample to the Ag sulfosalts and acanthite are pyrite, sphalerite andgalena. The first two are scarcer than galena, which is the host phase for the Ag minerals. Thepresence of the minerals described in this paper points out that Ag and Sb were present in smallquantities in the mineralizing fluids, as it is common in low-sulfidation epithermal deposits.
