Resumen:
The Dyson boson mapping technique, whenimplemented in truncated basis, introduces spurious states. Thesespurious states are the consequence of the use of ideal bosons andthey signal the over-completeness of the basis. It is shown thatthe correspondence between a perturbative expansion, $\acute{a} \;la$Bloch-Horowitz, and the Dyson boson mapping allows for theidentification of spurious states. The proposed method is appliedto the mapping of a bi-fermionic Hamiltonian and to the mapping ofa fermion-boson interaction.
