Resumen:
In the present work, rapid solidified samples of the Al-Fe-V and Al-Fe-V-Ti systems were studied. The alloys showed three different microstructures: nanocrystalline, nanoquasicrystalline and amorphous nanogranular. The influence of the phases present in each microstructure and the chemical composition on the corrosion and pitting processes were studied. The structural characterization was carried out by means of X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The corrosion behaviour was studied by potentiodynamic tests in a deaerated NaCl-1M solution at room temperature. In addition, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses were carried on Al-Fe-V-Ti samples tested at different potentials, before and after the passive zone. Scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive of X-ray analysis were used for characterizing of oxide products formed on samples tested 3 hs at the pitting potential and at a potential of -360 mVenH corresponding to the passive zone.
