Resumen:
Poweredby the ongoing advance in nanotechnology, the last years have seen an unprecedented growth in the manufacture and control of a broad range of electromechanical systems. Among these, the realization of quantum motors and pumps appear as a challenging adventure, for they are based on a fundamental quantum level. These typically consist of an electromechanical device connected to electronic reservoirs and controlled by non-equilibrium sources, like temperature gradients, bias voltages, or even an external driving agent. In this talk, I will briefly review some dynamic and thermodynamic aspects of these intriguing devices, paying particular attention on the relationship between different energy fluxes (charge and heat currents, and mechanical power). This will be illustrated in a double quantum dot capacitively coupled to a mechanical rotor. Some consequences from the non-equilibrium conditions will be discussed, like negative friction coefficients and dual motor/pump operational regimes.p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; }
