Resumen:
We analyze the role of quantum coherences in adiabatic quantum motors and pumps [1-4] as a resource for mechanical work generation/extraction. In particular, we investigate a double quantumdot (DQD) weakly coupled to non-interacting electron reservoirs in a regime where the transport generates coherences that survive in time scales comparable to the dwelling time of particles in the system [3]. We study the performance of this device as a function of voltage and/or temperature biases and describe situations where the operation of the device is directly induced by coherences. We evaluate its efficiency in terms of a simplified model of decoherence [5] and, interestingly, wefind parameter regimes where the device can be activated by it [6][1] R. Bustos-Marún, G.
