Resumen:
The work presents an analysis of the solving process of two undergraduate introductory-physics students working on a hydrostatic problem. The construct of epistemic games, as proposed by Tuminaro & Redish (2007)* is adopted. The analysis of a 75-minute solving session allows to identify a possible way to evolve from a novice state, which involves the epistemic game students naturally “choose”  to play, regardless of  its degree of sophistication.
