Detección de Galaxias detrás del palno de la Vía Láctea

Our participation in the VVV survey (Vista Variables in the V´ıaL´actea) gives us a great opportunity to study the distribution of galaxies,obscured by the presence of our Galaxy. The survey includes observationsin five near-infrared passbands of the bulge and part of the disk of theGalaxy. This work is part of Laura Baravalle “Trabajo Final de Licen-ciatura” and it consists of the d115 TILE analysis looking for extendedobjects. We study the star-galaxy separation and we obtain photometricproperties of extended objects. As a first step, we also perform a visualinspection of these images, finding 205 candidates for galaxies. Our maingoal is to automatically detect these extended objects and to separatethem in a photometric way. We analyse different regions in the Color-Magnitude and Color-Color Diagrams.
