Resumen:
In this paper, we present a software tool for the partitioning and solving of simulation and optimization models of industrial processes, called Model Partitioning for Simulation and Optimization (MP4SO). It integrates the computational functionalities of GAMS with the matrix decomposition capabilities of the Direct Method. MP4SO was tested for the simulation and optimization of several industrial case studies. The results show the advantages of using this partitioning model approach in Process System Engineering.
