Resumen:
Sinocalopteryx shangyongensis nov. gen. nov. sp., first fossil East Asian Calopterygidae, is described from the earliest Eocene of South-west China. Although this new genus has the main synapomorphies of the Calopterygidae, it shows a unique reversal in the pattern of the vein R1/2.
