Resumen:
The neutron multidetector array EDEN  has been used to investigate the decay of the high spin single-particle states observed in the continuum of neutron stripping reactions. The comparison of experimental data with the predictions of the statistical model allows to extract the "direct" branching ratios to tehlow-lying states in the target nucleus, related to the first stage of the damping process. Results obtained in 209^Pb are compared with theoretical predictions.
