Resumen:
Since 1997 our groups are involved in applications of gamma radiation to obtain advanced polymeric materials.  This work is done by the implementation of different grafting techniques into polymers, potentially useful for biotechnological process. In this way the following materials have been developed: (a) polysulfone and polyethersulfone membranes with specific protein-adsorptive properties; (b) polyethylene adsorptive membranes grafted by molecular imprinting; (c) hydrogel supported onto sintherized HDPE for bacteria immobilization applied to bio-catalysis process; (d) porous polymethacrylate solids for analytical separation processes; (e) hydrogels confined into macroporous membranes to develop an extracorporeal bioartificial liver and (f) modified nanoporous track-etched membrane. The unique properties of gamma rays, radical formation and penetrability, have a potential use in the field of surface modification of porous polymers. Presentación oral, ver adjunto
