Resumen:
Living beings display self-sustainded daily rhythms in multiple biological processes, which persist in the absence of externanl cues since they are generated by by endogenous circadian clocks. The period (per) gene is a central player withein the core molecular mechanism for keeping circadian time in most animals. Recentrly, the modulation of PER traslation has been reported, both in mammals and flies, suggesting that traslatinaal regulation of clock compeontntes, is important for the propoer clock gene expression an dmolecular clock performance. Because traslational regulation ultimately implies changes in the kinetics of translation and, therefore, in the circadian clock dynamics, we sought to stutdy how and to what extent the molecular clock dynamics is affected byh teh kinetics of PER translation.
