New species and records of Mimodromius of the subgenus Chubutianus (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Lebiini) Nuevas especies y citas de Mimodromius del subgénero Chubutianus (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Lebiini)

Chubutianus Mateu, 1993 is one of the subgenera proposed for MimodromiusChaudoir, 1873 (Coleoptera: Carabidae) which includes only two species endemic to thePatagonian steppe in the Republic of Argentina, which are known from few localities. In thiscontribution we redescribe the subgenus Mimodromius (Chubutianus) and the two known speciesand we describe four new species: M. (C.) anamariae n. sp., M. (C.) australis n. sp.,M. (C.) malarguensis n. sp. and M. (C.) sanguillermensis n. sp. The subgenus is recorded for thefirst time in Chile with the species Mimodromius (C.) phaeoxanthus Chaudoir. The distribution areais restricted to the South American Transition Zone. A key for the identification of the species of thesubgenus is provided, biogeographical comments are made on it and images of the adult habits ofall described species of M. (Chubutianus) are provided.
