Resumen:
PtSn/g-Al2O3 catalysts modified by potassium, were investigated in the isobutane dehydrogenation reaction, with emphasis in the relation between the regenerability and stability of the catalysts and the method of preparation. Tin was added using Surface Organometallic Chemistry on Metals techniques. Catalysts were characterized by TPR, TEM, XPS and TPO/TGA. The catalysts recovered their initial activity and selectivity after successive deactivation-regeneration cycles. The way in which potassium is added has a marked effect on the deactivation rate of catalysts, being more effective to prepare well defined bimetallic phases, and afterwards neutralizing superficial acid sites with potassium.
