The upcoming wireless communication systems areexpected to integrate a number of nodes remarkably greater thanthose observed in current technologies, while offering a sensiblyimproved service quality for critical applications. This generatesa need for innovative schemes to share the available resourcesamong the served terminals as well as to increase the systemefficiency and node fairness. Aiming to this objective, we proposea combination of non-orthogonal multiple access and interferencealignment schemes applied to the downlink transmissions in amulti-cell environment. The two methods presented in this workenable an efficient reutilization of resources and the suppressionof intra- and inter-cell interference in a single step during signalreception. We derive the expressions for the feasibility of ourproposed solution from an analysis applied to generic systemconfigurations. Additionally, we show numerical results thathighlight the benefits of this scheme in a system setup resemblingan Internet-of-things scenario.
