Resumen:
A canonical piece-wise-linear filter (CPWL) realization isproposed as part of the scheme for non linear time - domainequalization (TEQ) aiming impulsive noise interference reductionin xDSL transmission systems. The resulting structureis discussed in the context of a VDSL system usingthe usual Reed-Solomon (RS) coding to prevent impulsivenoise effects. Also, a recently introduced impulsive noisemodel is used in order to evaluate the new methodology. The scheme for impulse noise reduction presented can beused to obtain an alternative compromise between RS correctingcapabilities and interleaving delay. Results obtainedusing probability of error as performance measure indicatepromising results. Computer simulations are included thatallow to verify the interesting properties of the training algorithmfor the nonlinear TEQ proposed.
