Resumen:
Olivaichthys viedmensis occurs in the basins of Colorado, Negro, Chubut, and Baker rivers in Argentinaand Chile. It is a widespread species and would be assessed as Least Concern based on its distribution. However, records are sporadic and the population is inferred to be in decline due to the impacts of non-native species. Recent surveys have failed to find the species in its known distribution (e.g. upperColorado river). It is possible that the species is declining at a rate high enough to qualify as threatened, but there is insufficient information to show this. Therefore, this species is assessed as Data Deficient.
