Este es uno de los 5 trabajos seleccionados como más relevantes (ver justificación en CV ampliado).Resumen: The behavior of hydrodynamically lubricated journal bearings is governed by the Reynolds equation. The present work proposes an analytical approximate solution of this equation for isothermal finite length journal bearings and Newtonian fluids by means of the regular perturbation method using the square of the aspect ratio as the perturbation parameter. The novelty of the method lays in the treatment of the Ocvirk Number as expansible parameter. The pressure and shear-stress fields, as well as the friction force and load carrying capacity are, in this way, well described up to unity aspect ratio and moderate to high eccentricities.
