The following Argentina records of 32 species in 7 genera will most certainly be markedly increased by further collecting.Formerly a subfamily in the Lygaeidae (see J. Slater 1964, 435 and J. Slater and O?Donnell 1995, 44), this group was elevated to family st tus by Henry (1997a, 296).A major monograph on the Systematics, Phylogeny, and Zoogeography of the Blissinae of the World? was published by J. Slater (1979a); it contains a key (pages 58-61) to 46 genera and a checklist of all known species and keys to most of them.
