Resumen:
Asynonychus cervinus (Boheman) (Curculionidae: Naupactini) is native from South American but it has established in several countries far away from its original distribution, along with different crops, especially ornamental plants and citrus. Experimental studies show that in most of its range it reproduces by apomictic parthenogenesis. We propose the hypothesis that in Argentina and Brazil there are bisexual and parthenogenetic populations geographically segregated, a phenomenon that it is known are ?geographical parthenogenesis?, also present in other Naupactini such as Naupactus leucoloma Boheman, N. peregrinus (Buchanan) and Aramigus tessellatus (Say). The bisexual and parthenogenetic forms of A. cervinus show morphometric differences and in characters of the vestiture.
