Ubicación sistemática y variación intraespecífica de Pantomorus ruizi (Brethes) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)

Resumen:
The taxonomy of the parthenogenetic weevil Pantomorus ruizi and its affinities with other species of the genus Pantomorus are discussed. The paper includes a detailed redescription of this highly variable South American species, with the addition of new taxonomic characters, especially those of the body vestiture, mouthparts and genitalia. New host plant data, a map of geographical distribution and illustrations of the diagnostic characters were provided. The great infraspecific variation found was analyzed in detail and the main variants were associated to names of the large synonymy list of the species.
