Revisión sistemática del género Priocyphus Hustache 1939 y creación de los géneros Priocyphopsis y Lamprocyphopsis (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)

Priocyphus Kuschel, 1950 (Curculionidae: Naupactini) included eight species that would not form a monophyletic group. The detailed revision of all these taxa resulted in a redefinition of this genus. As a consequence, Priocyphus includes onle four species (P. bosqi Hustache, 1939, P. hustachei Kuschel, 1950, P. inops Kuschel, 1950 and P. kuscheli, sp. n.. The five remaining species formerly assigned to this genus are either transferred to Cyrtomon Schönher, 1823 (P. glaucus (Bovie, 1907) and P. ovalipennis (Hustache, 1938)), or placed in the new genera Lamprocyphopsis Lanteri (P. viridinitens Kuschel, 1950 and L. paraguayensis, sp. nov) and Priocyphopsis Lanteri (P. humeridens (Hustache, 1926) and P. hirsutus Hustache, 1939).The revision includes descriptions and redescriptions of all the taxa treated, illustrations of the most important structures, maps of geographical distribution, and keys at generic and specific levels.
