Resumen:
The Southamerican genera Trichocyphus Heller and Mendozella Hustache are redescribed including new diagnostic characters, specially from the genitalia of female. The relationships between them and other genera of the tribe Naupactini are discussed. Trichocyphus is probably related to Enoplopactus Heller and Mendozella to Cyrtomon Schoenherr. The species T. formosus (Erichson 1834), T. rubricollis (Blanchard 1843) and T. pulcher (Kuschel 1949) are synonymyzed. After this study the two genera must be considered monotypic. The habitus of both species and their diagnostic characters are illustrated.
