Resumen:
Impressions of small lycophyte stems, Frenguellia gen. nov., are described from Early Carboniferous sequences of Argentina. Its leaves are five parted with an elongate central division and two opposite divided lateral divisions, They invite comparisonwith Lech, rcqia Banks, Bonamo et Grierson. The lack of evidence of ligule, sporophylls and stem anatomy makes Frenguelliadistinct. This lycopod characterizes the Early Carboniferous Archaeosigillaria "Lepidodendropsis" biozone of Argentina.
