Resumen:
Phlogopite macro/megacrystalsfrom basic rocks of the sierra de losChacays, Northpatagonian massif, were studied. Theyshow a reactionrim, in some cases with Fe and Ti oxide exsolutions. These phlogopites are characterized by high TiO2 and low Al2O3 contents. This compositional feature createsa Deficit of aluminum in tetrahedral sites, which is compensated by Fe+3. The mineral chemistryand the calculated stoichiometry at 22 charges indicates that these micasare classified as titaniferoustetraferriphlogopite.
