Resumen:
Miocene dacitic effusives outcrop at the Eastern margin of the Puna or Altiplano at 24º S.L. These volcanic rocks show a limited composition range (SiO2 63.81-69.23%) conformable to a monotonous volcanic assemblage of intermediate composition.
The Miocene volcanics might have originated in a rapidly tapped magma chamber.
