Resumen:
We have developed a study on the thionation of cephalosporins and penicillins using Lawessons reagent. Best results were obtained in the preparation of 7a-methoxy-8-thioxocephalosporins (70-98% isolated yield), and 6a-methoxy-7-thioxopenicillins (14% isolated yield).
