Resumen:
The presence and identity of wood-decay Basidiomycetes affecting Platanus acerifolia were evaluated in Buenos Aires City during 2007. From nineteen strains corresponding to eight species, ten sequences were obtained belonging to the following species: Bjerkandera adusta, Coprinellus micaceus, Ganoderma resinaceum, Inonotus rickii, Peniophora laxitexta and Phlebiopsis gigantea. The sequences were compared with those from the GenBank database. Phylogenetic analyses were performed under both static and dynamic homologies. It was possible to identificate C. micaceus in absence of basidioma and previous culture descriptions. Culture identification of B. adusta and I. rickii were confirmed, while those of G. resinaceum, P. laxitexta and P. gigantea were not corroborated due to the complexity of the genera and the lack of sequences. Lack of sequences at a regional level would be a major obstacle for the detection of wood decay in urban trees.
