Resumen:
Abstract International migration is a key issue among the globalization matters. A large number of people is moving from one country to another, and the economic, social and cultural interchanges have contributed to a new type of migration: the transnational migrant. Within the transnationalism conceptual approach, migrant’s peculiar behaviors appear, for example: the origin and destination areas are correlated through interchanges and a multi-scale reasoning is needed for that comprehension. The aim of this paper is to analyze and to interpret the bolivian migrants residential trajectories and mobility practices in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area, from the transnationalism’s perspective. Through their migrant trajectory, they take decisions and develop actions which are named residential strategies. The methodology is based on the biographic method. Transnational migrants and their families have the experience of living two or more territories at the same time, it is the “there in here” dialectic. A new territorialization process can be recognized through residential systems which characteristics are spatial concentration at a local scale and plural-locations at a global scale. Transnational migrants develop strong social and economic relations to the origin area and they help their family sending remittances. They also circulate between origin and arrival countries and they return generally every year. This is “living the transnationalism” and this migrant’s experience involves the emergency of the multiterritoriality. Key words: migration, transnationalism, residential trajectories, Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.
