Resumen:
NMR Spectroscopy of paramagnetic metalloproteins has beenhistorically disfavored based on the fast nuclear relaxation rates induced byunpaired electron, which give rise to extreme line broadening and impairmagnetization transfer. Recent advances in the application of state of the art pulsesequences are here described, with particular emphasys in copper proteins, whichpresent unfavorable electron relaxation times. In the case of binuclear coppercenters, NMR is particularly useful to obtain information on the electronicstructure of partially populated (invisible) excited states which determine theirreactivity.
