Resumen:
Abstract. We explore the geometry of Fe II line forming regions in the extended envelopes of Be stars. Based on simple disc models, we propose different density and temperature distributions that account for the values of the optical depths obtained using the SAC method. We conclude that, close to the central star, the Be envelopes have semiheights H > 0.5Ro and a density law given by N(R) = N(Ro)(Ro=R)n con n < 1 para R < 3 Ro (Ro=stellar radius).
