We assess for the first time the impact that the uncertainties affecting the12C( ,
)16O reaction rate have on the asteroseismological inferences of ZZ Ceti stars.For our adopted test-case, the well studied DAV star G117-B15A, we found that theincomplete knowledge of the 12C( ,
)16O nuclear reaction rate results in a moderatedispersion of the structural parameters of the asteroseismological model.
