Resumen:
We study the formation of ultracompact X-ray binaries (UCXBs) through binary evolution. A key point when considering the possibility of forming SBUXs by this channel is the angular momentum loss from the system, particularly by magnetic breaking (MB). Recently, it has been shown that the most common MB prescription used in binary calculations leads to discrepancy with some observations. Besides, binaries evolving under this law have very low probability of becoming UCXBs (fine-tuning problem). Different authors have calculated evolutionary sequences using the MESA code, employing a new MB prescription and, remarkably, obtained disparate results. Considering that we have a completely independent binary evolutionary code, we calculate evolutionary paths with this new MB prescription. We found that the number of UCXBs that can be formed increases, but it is not possible to reproduce wide-orbit binaries. We conclude that under this MB more UCXBs can be formed, although this prescription would not be a viable candidate for a universal MB law.
