Resumen:
We analyze the relation between the star formation activity and stellar chemical abundances of galaxies in the EAGLE (Evolution and Assembly of GaLaxies and their Environments) suite of cosmological simulations. Consistently with previous observational works by Trussler et al., we found that, at a given stellar mass, galaxies with lower star formation rates (SFRs) tend to show higher metallicities, lower star-forming gasfractions and older stellar populations. These trends are present, at least, since redshift z = 3 and for stellar masses M⋆ > 10^9 M⊙. In particular, simulations predict a correlation between stellar mass and stellar metallicity, consistently with the observed behaviour. In this article, we show preliminary results of this project.
