Resumen:
The Quebrada de Humahuaca is an extensive tectonic valley (150 km long) located in the province ofJujuy, of northwest Argentina. Displaying a north-south direction, it is runed by the Rio Grande whichreceives tributaries from minor associated valleys. Its population is around 34.000 mostly nativeinhabitants that develop their main activities associated to tourism, agriculture and local trade of goods.
